Typepad users: A free account with Feedburner is next to useless.
June 8, 2006 4:12 pmRecently, Typepad announced their partnership with Feedburner to bring you more statistics analysis on your blog activities. I went ahead and tried out the integration but wasn’t happy with it at all.
Don’t expect anything cool out of Feedburner.com unless you pay extra $60/year. The stats information that you get when you sign up for a
free account with them is next to useless.
Typepad shows me very limited statistics information about my blogs despite that fact that I am a paying member. I think Typepad should really improve their statistical analysis for their paying members, instead of referring us to another website that requires more cash to provide us with the information that we want to pore over. It’s just processing the raw log file, for God’s sake! There are many free analysis packages out there that Typepad could use to incorporate into their stats page.
As my blog is gaining a bigger number in terms of readership, I’m more interested in which of my posted entries are getting more clicks than the others. I truly hope that Typepad improves their statistics page or I would seriously consider switching to another blogging service that will provide me with improved statistics data that I would find extremely useful.
