A milestone: 100,000 page views reached!
February 19, 2007 12:28 pmSometime this morning, my blog served its 100,000th page view! I started this Typepad blog on 11/13/05 after moving over from a Livejournal blog that I had for a year.
This milestone made me curious about what kind of impact DeafRead had on my blog’s traffic. I did some digging into my traffic statistics.
Since the inception of this blog on 11/13/05 and for the next 6 months up to the first spring protest at Gallaudet, I had only 4,878 people who visited my blog. It was during the first spring protest at Gallaudet that my traffic started to pick up: 12,497 people visited my blog up to the point when DeafRead.com was established on 7/13/06. Several direct links from Ridor and my blogging work at the 2006 NAD conference also contributed many of these hits.
But since 7/13/06 with DeafRead.com running in the background, my traffic got a big kick in the pants and in only 7 months, there were 44,623 people who stopped by to read my posts.
Even tho’ I’m part of the DeafRead staff, I wanted to thank all of the blogs of DeafRead for making it a successful site that draws in many visitors daily. I think it’s really something to see a big group of people working together to generate traffic for everyone involved. Certainly there are those who have benefited from this collaborative effort and may have went by largely unnoticed in the past!
