Landing at St. Maarten
August 19, 2008 2:45 pmThis is an island that I’ve always wanted to go visit for one reason: To see the huge jets landing only mere inches away from the beach!
The airport has a particularly short runway that ends just 40 feet from beach, leaving large planes just barely enough room to land. So they have to come in low, directly over the beach.
