Watching the Inauguration online
January 17, 2009 12:33 pmWhile I’ll be braving the frigid weather at the Washington Mall for Obama’s presidential inauguration ceremony, many of you will be watching it in a warm room on the TV. But…. what if you aren’t near a TV at the time?
Here’s a good list of websites to watch the inauguration live online:

As for subtitles or captioning of the live video streams, you may have to jump from one link to the next until you find one that offers this feature since none of the links make any mention of live captioning online. I bet the all of the network infrastructure guys behind the any of the live video streams are still blockheads and haven’t given this feature more than a passing thought. It’s 2009, for god’s sake, guys! We’re merely talking about overlaying short time-coded text characters on the video stream. It’s already being done on TV (just turn on CC1 on your TV)… time to bring it over to the web!
